Cost: About $4 per person
So after Jess, Jason, and I went to Del Seoul we were feeling a bit under impressed. Looking to go home on a high note, Jess brought it to our attention that we happened to be down the road from a solid dessert option in Molly's Cupcakes.
It was a bit of a dreary day out, but if anything that just encouraged more people to flood into this Lincoln Park hangout for some coffee and cupcakes. It can get really packed at times, and it's somewhat hit or miss whether or not you'll get caught up in a crowd. On one hand it only takes a second to plate up a cupcake, and on the other hand people take a while picking from the many options and sometimes hang out at their table all day long. It's one large room with a variety of tables with either wooden seats or pillow covered benches to sit on. If you'd like you can sit at one of the swings at the coffee bar too.

For a cupcake I'd say it's slightly pricey (but who can really say that anymore with all of these fancy cupcake places popping up left and right). The more basic cupcakes are around $3 which isn't really that bad, and the filled cupcakes are $3.75.
After some careful deliberation over a seemingly endless list of choices Jason got the Butterscotch Cupcake, Jess got the Carrot Cake Cupcake, and I got the Ron Bennington Cupcake. Jess was the real cupcake connoisseur in the crowd and she thought her carrot cake was pretty good although a little dense and maybe not strong enough on flavor. She did seem to like the traditional sour cream frosting. Jason's butterscotch cupcake was a real Paula Deen special ( = lots of butter). It was fantastic and focused on the right flavoring unlike many butterscotch things that are far too sugary. The Ron Bennington was a chocolate cupcake with a chocolate ganache and peanut butter filling. Jess tried some and definitely thought it was a bit much, but I knew what I was getting into when I ordered it. It was a chocolate peanut buttery dream. I'm not sure exactly what it takes to get a cupcake named after you at Molly's, but I can't imagine that Ron is a very healthy individual. Anyways, the custom creation is really something to be had.

There's very little not to love about Molly's. It has an interesting atmosphere and more importantly some delectable treats. They may not drive them to you like so many other spots these days, but they're definitely worth making the trip yourself. I'm giving Molly's Cupcakes 4 out of 5 Pearls.
